So, I was by far the oldest contestant at the Pole Dance Competition-Reality TV Show--average age 22. More than 3 crew members of the Dec 5th Vegas event said "you're not competing, are you?" I guess they were surprised by my, ahem, obvious maturity. Yes, it took some brass ovaries to compete against women less than half my age--many worthy of the top prize. I knew all along that I would simply have to bring my presence and a strong dose of "let's not be intimidated, shall we?" I was on a mission to represent aspiring, fit, muscled, sensual women over 50.
Sometimes you have to do something crazy to raise the bar in your life. So I'm heading to Vegas on Dec 5 to compete on the pole against women less than half my age. There's prize money involved here but I'm going more to make a point than a buck.
I'm representing the over 50 pole dancers of America--all 3 of us. This revolution will be televised on some future channel & date, TBA. This will be a case of what happens in Vegas will be broadcast throughout the nation. I hope to do my generation proud.

April 25 & 28, 09 Raqs L.A. sponsored by Bellydance Superstars –The second annual at Glendale Auditorium, which has a huge proscenium stage (perfect for the evening Superstars show and the many troupes who danced during the festival days). Many were wonderful to watch, with the L.A showbiz polish up front. Most notable for me were the Feldthouse family band with all ages of dancers. The youngest are now lovely teens and 20’s whose interpretation of the music is so natural and sweet.
