Our studio traditionally hosts one live music Belly Dance Party per quarter, open to all dancers, both student and professional. September 07 we invited Al Azifoon of Martinez, featuring the angelic voice of Yosifah Rose and the classical Egyptian music by her husband Nathan Craver, veteran musician Paul Ohanasian, and percussionist Zaid Ali.

The stellar night of dancers included Una of San Jose, Latifa of Sausalito, Julie of Mt. Shasta, Jade of Oakland, Robin Starlight of Santa Rosa, Jalena and Nitara of El Cerrito, Evil Eye Dancers of Berkeley, Hefiza of San Rafael and co-owners Aruna and Dhyanis.

The band also provided ample open floor songs for the audience to get up and enjoy dancing between sets. As usual included in the price of admission was a classy buffet prepared by the house Mediterranean Mama, Dhyanis herself.
