The April 5th workshop with Bellydance Superstar, Bozenka has been cancelled. We hope she'll return.
Those of us who took her 2006 double veil workshop here were impressed with her supreme grace and patient teaching style. Bozenka, whose name means “touched by God” certainly radiates while she dances.
I call myself a “Missionary of the Art of Raqs Sharki, Oriental Dance, Middle Eastern Dance or the ever-popular misnomer ‘Bellydancing…’ ” she says. “It’s not only what I do for a living, but a way of life… I love the intricacy of Middle Eastern music and the sensuality of the movement. Bellydancing personifies strength and power in its most feminine form... When everything is in sync; music and movement are my direct links to the divine.”
In 2006, Bozenka competed against 150 bellydancers from around the world and won the coveted golden crown from the “Ahlan Wa Sahlan” dance festival in Cairo, Egypt. Even CNN covered this story with this headline: “An American Belly Dancer has taken the Egyptian crown!”
